BEREA, Ohio — Richard Sherman ‘fessed up on the The Pat McAfee Display on Wednesday, saying he’ll apologize to Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield for erroneously declaring he wouldn’t shake the 49ers’ fingers in advance of the video game.

Movie showed that Mayfield really did shake their palms at the coin toss, like that of Sherman, who identified as him out for not doing so.

“It’s surely my lousy,” Sherman explained to McAfee. “I in no way want any one to deal with some sh-t that — I indicate some some things — that they did not do. And so, you know, the thoughts that he’s gonna get and the bothersome, nonsense thoughts about some things that happened in a match which is already been done, you know, certain he’ll get an apology for that. I’ll almost certainly access out to him via textual content or social media to really get ahold of him and discuss to him in particular person, I signify on the phone. But, yeah, mainly because that sucks. … But yeah, yeah. He unquestionably justifies an apology and my negative on that.”

Sherman did not retract, having said that, that he felt disrespected by Mayfield in advance of the 49ers’ 31-3 blowout victory on Monday Night time Football.

“I could have phrased it in different ways, but I intended what I stated,” Sherman said. “I did experience the disrespect. … I felt disrespect and at the close of the day that is all the tale was, truly. Like, men and women can say, ‘Oh my God, he shook your hand’ or ‘Oh my God you were mistaken.’ You can say no matter what you want. I don’t give a damn.”

Sherman initially instructed NFL Network’s Michael Silver that Mayfield didn’t shake hands with the 49ers just before the recreation.

“What’s astounding, and frustrating, was him not shaking fingers at the beginning,” he informed Silver. ”That’s some university s—. It’s ridiculous. We’re all making an attempt to get psyched up, but shaking palms with your opponent — that is NFL etiquette. And when you pull bush league stuff, which is disrespectful to the video game. And think me, which is gonna get us fired up.”

Pretend snub or not, the 49ers dominated them from start out to end and made Mayfield (eight completions, 100 yards, 2 picks, 1 dropped fumble, 4 sacks, 13.2 ranking) seem terrible.

Sherman, who picked off Mayfield on his second travel of the match, ongoing his anti-Mayfield rant in his postgame press convention.

“He hasn’t gained just about anything in this league,’’ he mentioned. “How many game titles has he gained? He is acting like he was the MVP last calendar year. If [Patrick] Mahomes did that, it would be a single detail. But he would never do that, because he has far too a great deal regard for the activity.

“And when you see a guy who doesn’t? You humble him every single probability you get. Due to the fact eventually, he will have respect for the league — or he’ll be out of it.”
